The 34-year-old victim suffered injuries to his head and shoulder.

POLICE ARE QUESTIONING an attempted murder suspect after a man was attacked with a knife and a hammer in County Armagh.

Police were alerted to a stabbing at a house in Craigavon shortly before 12pm today and arrived at the scene within one minute, the PSNI said in a statement.

There they found a 34-year-old man with injuries to his head and shoulder.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
