Man (35) to appear in court over fatal stabbing in Waterford

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death on New Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A MAN IS to appear in court today as part of the investigation into a fatal stabbing in Waterford over the weekend.

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death on New Street in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was taken to University Hospital Waterford where he was pronounced dead.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and is expected to appear before Waterford District Court at 10.30am today.

Yesterday gardaí said they wanted to speak to two young women who were in the New Street or John Street area between 3am and 4am on Saturday and who may have witnessed the incident.
