Man (34) arrested after motorist stabbed to death following car crash

Police have been hunting for the man who killed the 79-year-old.

POLICE IN ENGLAND have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a motorist was stabbed to death following a car accident.

They said that following information, a man aged 34 was arrested by armed officers in Worthing at 2pm today.

Detective Superintendent Adam Hibbert said:

A man is in custody on suspicion of murder. I continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision on the A24 at 8.40pm last night or who may have CCTV or dashboard cameras of the area at that time, to come to assist our investigation. They should contact police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Wise.

The incident happened on Thursday night when the two cars crashed on a quiet road outside a garden centre in Sussex in south-east England.

Investigators believe that the suspect got out of his car and stabbed the victim, who had been driving the other car. The suspect then drove away.

Police believe the victim was named Donald Lock.

Air ambulance paramedics carried out first aid on the victim but he died at the scene.

“Officers have been urgently making enquiries overnight to trace the suspect,” said Detective Chief Inspector Karen Mizzi earlier today.

She appealed for anyone who may have filmed the incident to come forward.

“Specially trained officers are supporting the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time,” she said.
