Man on the run after threatening bookies staff with hammer

The man made off with a sum of cash.

A MAN ARMED with a hammer threatened staff at a bookmakers in west Belfast last night before making off with a sum of cash.

It happened on Grosvenor Road at around 8:50pm.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses.

The man was wearing a grey hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms with a scarf covering his face.

The members of staff were not injured during the incident.

Detective Sergeant Kenneth Leckey is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that will assist the investigation to contact Detectives in Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
