Man treated for the bends after diving off west coast

A MAN WHO WAS diving off the coast of Co Clare today has been taken to hospital in Galway to receive treatment for the bends, RTÉ reports. The condition is related to changes in pressure on the human body which can result in a build-up of internal gases converted into bubbles within the bloodstream.
