It is believed the body had been at the house for a couple of weeks.

GARDAÍ IN CLONAKILTY are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in a house today.

The body was discovered at lunchtime in a house at Gort Na Muckla, two miles north of Dunmanway.

It is believed the man lived there on his own, however gardaí said they cannot confirm his identity until after the post-mortem, which is due to take place tomorrow at Cork University Hospital (CUH).

The body was taken to CUH and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination. It is believed the body had been at the house for a couple of weeks.
