Man's body pulled from Royal Canal

Gardai are looking for information on how a man fell into the canal early this morning.

THE BODY OF a young man has been taken from the Royal Canal in Dublin.

The 22-year-old man is thought to have fallen in the water some time between 6 and 6.30am today near the Ballybough Bridge in Dublin 1. His body was removed not long afterwards by emergency services and was taken to the Mater hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is understood that foul play is not suspected but gardai are appealing for witnesses to the man’s fall, or if they were in the area between 6am and 6.30am this morning.
