Man's body recovered from Castletown River in Dundalk

Gardaí are not treating the death of the man in his 60s as suspicious.

THE BODY OF a man has been recovered from the Castletown River in Dundalk in Louth today.

The body was taken from the river at around quarter past 10 this morning.

It is believed to be the body of John Tiernan, who went missing from his home on Christmas Eve, gardaí have said.

The 69-year-old was last seen at his home in Fr Murray Park, Dundalk, Co Louth on 24 December.

Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.
