TD Clare Daly of Independents 4 Change tells us why she believes today’s 7th Annual March for Choice for Abortion Rights is still crucial and important, despite the repealing of the Eighth Amendment in May.
“Our laws have yet not been changed,” she says, adding that the conversation around abortion in Ireland must be focused on delivering human-rights based legislation.
“International experience tells us that the best way to do this is for activists to keep engaged,” she says.

Despite what she wants you to believe, politicans like Daly don’t make the country any better. They literally make it a worse place.
@danny: how? Honestly I would like to know where this assumption has come from.
@Ned Flanders: The assumption comes from our inherent bias that allows us to swallow little white lies. As an parent who says to their child you’re not getting any chocolate until you’ve finished your homework and then takes the child at face value when they say they have. Dr. can fix the healthcare crisis? Eoghan, can you fix the homeless and housing crises? Brian, can you get us a good deal to solve the banking crisis? No matter how often or how obvious the lie is, if it is preferable to actual reality, it’s quite likely the lie will be swallowed because as a race, we are quite confrontation adverse. It’s why Brexit continues to become a bigger and bigger farce as Boris and May spin porkies that everything’s going to be ok, even though it’s becoming blatantly obvious that they’re sailing the UK up the creek. The idea that the politicians we vote for have no more clue how to run a country than kindergarteners do is just too abhorrent to even think about, no matter how hot the water we’re sitting in gets.

I have admiration for her, she is sticking this to the very very end. Yes we voted, but you have to keep on top of it otherwise government could delay and delay it being put into legislation
She shouldn’t have passed on info to the guy trying to hail the flight he missed. She keeps getting arrested also when she walks onto the runway in shannon.
