Man (48) in hospital after being attacked by armed gang in aggravated burglary

The gang of five men ransacked the property before fleeing empty handed.

A 48-YEAR-OLD man has been taken to hospital after an aggravated burglary in Cullybackey, Antrim last night.

The man was struck on the head with a firearm when five masked men entered a house on Craigs Road after 10pm.

One of the men is thought to have been armed with a handgun, another with a hammer.

The gang ransacked the property but left empty handed.

It’s understood that the victim is being treated for minor injuries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact the offices of Ballymena Reactive and Organised Crime on the non-emergency number 101.
