Masked men with shotgun tied up man and threatened couple in Wicklow home

A staff member was tied up by the men.

A COUPLE WERE confronted and threatened by a group of armed masked men when they returned to their home in Laragh, Wicklow last night.

A member of their staff was tied up when they arrived at the house just before midnight.

Gardaí believe that four masked men were involved in the aggravated burglary and one of the men was carrying a shotgun.

Some cash and a mobile phone were taken from the couple, who are restaurateurs.

The woman managed to contact gardai while the man was being confronted by the raiders.

However, when the gardaí arrived on the scene the four men had escaped. No-one was injured in the burglary.
