Max Clifford will appeal his jail sentence today

He was jailed for eight years for after being convicted of eight charges of sexual assault but he has repeatedly claimed he’s innocent.

THE 71-YEAR-OLD disgraced celebrity publicist, Max Clifford, is to appeal against his jail sentence today.

In May of this year he was jailed for eight years after being found guilty of eight charges against women and girls as young as 15 between 1977 and 1984.

Clifford refused to apologise to his victims. When asked if he had anything to say to them, he responded: “I stand by everything I’ve said in the past. Everything”. He had repeatedly claimed he was innocent.

Clifford was one of the most influential figures in the British entertainment world. He advised a number of high-profile clients, including Simon Cowell.

His appeal will be heard at the Court of Appeal in London by Lord Justice Treacy, Mr Justice Turner and Judge Michael Pert.

Clifford is one of a number of prominent entertainment figures charged with historic sex abuse.

The investigations stem from the case of the late Jimmy Savile, a BBC personality who was found to have abused hundreds of girls and women.
