Here's how much the average home in Maynooth costs in 2018

According to the latest analysis from Daft.ie.

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a property in Maynooth is just under €333,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie.

Analysis across all properties in the last three months of 2017 puts the average list price at €332,839.

This makes it one of the most expensive Kildare towns in which to buy property. It is significantly more expensive than Naas or Celbridge (€302,000 and €297,000 respectively), while the average Maynooth home costs €100k more than the average property in Newbridge.

Prices here are also significantly higher than the national average of roughly €262,000. However, they are a good chunk lower than average prices in the capital – just over €400,000 at the last analysis.

The cost of properties in Maynooth has been on the increase since 2012. Since then they have risen by 54% – roughly in line with the national average.

There is still a good way to go before prices here reach their Celtic Tiger peak. In 2006, the average price of a property in Maynooth hit €450,000.

Did they not check on the demand for these houses before they spent £8 million doing them up?

The idea sounds good but that could mean 25 yrs of rates and house tax for 136 houses! That’s a rather large sum to commit to on a bet

A heavily subsidised industry that was losing a lot of money. It would be closed by now even if Thatcher hadn’t done it.
Never liked her but it doesn’t mean everything she did was wrong. The unions were at least partially to blame for the problems.

Long term the mines made no sense but you can’t remove the one think that lets a town exist and not replace it. The closing down should have happened gradually with training for new jobs and attracting new business to the area occurring at the same time

Yes because Co Durham includes town like well Durham which have the university etc. which reduces the unemployment rate, but go outside of that area and it gets pretty grim

Beirut is a beautiful city, very unfair to compare areas of England with it. If anyone is offering places in Beirut for £1, I’ll take them all.

I bet they weren’t expecting this when the brought in that ‘bedroom tax’.
It’s crazy to penalise someone because they have a spare bedroom…..http://www.bromford.co.uk/customer/changes-to-benefits/bedroom-tax/
