Man (66) killed while trying to repair truck

Gardaí are describing it as a tragic accident.

A MAN IN his 60s has died following what gardaí are describing as a tragic accident on the Tipperary-Limerick border last night.

The 66-year-old was working to repair a truck in Ballymackeogh when the accident took place at around 8.30pm.

Emergency services responded but he was pronounced dead at the scene, a garda spokesperson confirmed.

The man’s body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick and the local coroner has been notified.

The death will be investigated under the Coroners Act.
