Teenager in critical condition and four others injured after single vehicle crash in Mayo

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

A TEENAGER IS in critical condition in hospital and four others were injured following a single vehicle crash in Mayo early this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision, which occurred in Co Mayo just before 4am this morning. Gardaí an emergency services responded to a crash on the N5 at Deerpark near Swinford involving a single car.

Five males in their teens were taken from the scene by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital. One of the youths is understood to be in critical condition.

The road is currently closed with local diversions in place and an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be carried out this morning.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time have been asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
