Armed gardaí sent to Mayo town after men injured following funeral

Another incident saw a car rammed by another vehicle.

TWO MEN HAVE been injured in separate incidents in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo.

The men were injured following a funeral in the town this morning, which it is believed they had both attended.

One man sustained injuries on Abbey Street in the town and was taken to Mayo University Hospital, while a short time later a man was attacked in a service station just outside the town.

The first man’s condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Another incident saw a car rammed by another vehicle.

Gardaí have responded by sending a number of units to the area, which include members of the Armed Response Unit.

Six men have been arrested.
