The McLaren 12C is a dream supercar you can drive every day

Here’s your chance to own a car not seen very often on Irish roads.

IF I HAD the money I’d buy…

A car with extraordinary pace and handling. A car that looks like a beast on the road, turns heads and gets enviable looks wherever it goes. A car that is a feat of engineering and one that is proven on track but made for the road. I’d by a McLaren 12C (or MP4-12C, to give it its full name).

Why a McLaren 12C?

The 12c is the first car that McLaren made for the everyday car buyer. OK, the mega-rich everyday car buyer.

It is an extraordinarily capable car both on the track and road and is ludicrously fast. It has lightning-quick reflexes, endless grip and is tripping over itself with high-tech features. It has an all-independent double wishbone adjustable suspension that makes the car feel like a super comfy saloon as well as a focused racing car.

Oh, and it also has the super cool signature McLaren dihedral doors that always impress when opened… and a sharp driver-centric interior that is very comfortable.

What’s special about this particular one?

The 12C is a rare sight on Irish roads, so you will really stand out in this dream car.

This particular version looks resplendent in its McLaren Orange paint and gorgeous 20-inch McLaren alloys and carbon ceramic brakes. Inside it is finished in carbon black leather and Alcantara and carbon black steering wheel.

It also comes with a Stealth Pack (darkened finish on exhaust tips and wing supports) and Iris upgrade with satellite navigation and Meridian surround sound system. This is one souped-up supercar.

What does it look like in action?

Watch Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton (back when they were F1 teammates) have a lot of fun test driving the McLaren 12C around the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Nice job!

Who else drives one?

Singers Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga both drive one, as does David Beckham (although I think his 12C is actually Posh’s car, she has great taste).

DJ Calvin Harris drives one and has been seen taking Rita Ora out for a spin in it. Will.I.Am has a 12C in his large car collection and Jay Leno has a 12C in his garage. In fact, there are loads of great YouTube videos on Jay and his McLaren.

It costs €209,950. What else could you get for the money?

For the same money, you could have this bungalow with stunning views in Kells, Co Meath.

… or this new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet.

The F1 was the first car made by McLaren.. was also the fastest production car in it’s time. Bitta fact checking or get someone who knows cars to write about them

@Pierce Fox: The first car made by McLaren was the M1A. Only 64 standard road versions of the F1 were produced and they were priced at £634,500. Therefore they were not realistically made for the everyday buyer. There were over 4,000 examples of the 12C produced with an asking price of £168,500 making them much more attainable and therefore the first McLaren made for the everyday car buyer, as I said in the article. I never said the 12C was the first car McLaren made nor that it was the fastest production car. But thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
