Man put in hospital after masked robbers armed with bats break into his house

The robbers also had a pellet gun.

A MAN IN his 40s was put in hospital after masked men stormed into his home and attacked him with bats and a pellet gun.

Gardaí say that the man was injured in his flat in the Donegal village of St Johnston in Donegal yesterday at around 5pm.

An unknown number of men burst into the flat armed with bats and what gardaí believe was a pellet gun.

The men fled the scene empty handed and the man was taken to Letterkenny Hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

A gardaí spokesperson said that the scene is preserved for a technical examination, but no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
