Met Éireann issue warning for flooding and gales

If you’re thinking of heading outside today you might want to bring an umbrella.

THE WEATHER TODAY is going to have none of the late-summer sunshine that we’ve seen  in recent days.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning, with gales and local spot flooding expected in some parts of the country.

Rain is expected to fall across most of the country until around 6pm, at which point it will become contained in Ulster, with heavy rainfall expected to the east of the province.

Highest temperatures today are expected to reach between 14 and 18 degrees, and going potentially as high as 20 degrees on parts of the north-east coast.

There has also been a blight warning put in place.

There will be further heavy rainfall in the north east over night with scattered heavy showers elsewhere.

The ESB has advised anyone encountering any issues with their power to contact them on 1850372999.
