THE HEAVENS WERE on show last night as the perseids meteor show got underway again.

The meteor shower also saw photographers running to grab a snap of the beauties, and here’s how they got on.

Fergal Gleeson snapped this near Haroldstown Dolmen in Co Carlow:

At its peak, up to 100 shooting stars an hour could be seen streaking across the sky.

That’s because the perseids sees around 20 times more shooting stars than normal across this week.

Unfortunately, the view wasn’t so great everywhere…
