The Minister for Health helped out in a medical emergency yesterday

Leo Varadkar spent the day with the National Ambulance Service.

MINISTER FOR HEALTH Leo Varadkar got a taste yesterday of what it’s like on the front-line of the services he presides over.

The Minister spent the day travelling with the National Amublance “just to see how it works,” he told RTÉ’s The Marian Finucane Show.

However, the trained doctor ended up assisting in a medical emergency, seen in the picture above.

When questioned by the show, the Minister seemed taken aback that the image had surfaced, and said it wasn’t intended to be for “media consumption”.

The incident took place at Edmondstown Golf Club in Rathfarmham, south Dublin, and the patient is believed to have been discharged from hospital.
