Hector is sorry for saying Miriam O'Callaghan "talks s****"

He wanted to “officially apologise” while speaking to Anton Savage yesterday.

BROADCASTER HECTOR Ó HEOCHAGÁIN has apologised after saying Miriam O’Callaghan ‘talks shite’.

He had made the comments during an interview on The Saturday Night show while talking about RTÉ One’s content.

Speaking on Today FM’s Anton Savage Show yesterday, the former RTÉ presenter said that he regretted making the remarks about the veteran presenter.

“I want to officially apologise to Miriam O’Callaghan for saying that she talks shite. She far from talks shite. A lot of people tune into Miriam and she’s a great broadcaster,” he said.

He went on to describe the comments as a “moment of madness”.

Hector was on the show to promote his new gym. He said that the gym’s website had crashed after his appearance on the Saturday Night Show with Brendan O’Connor.

Earlier this month Hector hinted that he may be set to return to radio presenting. He previously presented the breakfast show on 2FM from 2010 to 2013 before being let go.

Speaking during the programme with Anton Savage, he said that he would be returning to broadcasting with the station in June. He has previously stood in for Anton Savage on his afternoon programme.
