Miss Ireland 2007 Blathnaid McKenna Rosengurtt/Wikicommons

Poll: Should we still crown a Miss Ireland?

Is it just good-natured competition? Or is it out of step with modern times?

TOMORROW A PAGEANT will take place to select Miss Ireland 2015.

The winner of the national beauty contest will go on to represent the country at the Miss World competition in China in December of this year.

Previous Miss Ireland’s have included Rosanna Davidson, who went to win Miss World in 2003, and model Andrea Roche, who received the title in 1998.

While some people welcome the competition, others feel that it is past its sell by date.

We want to know, should we still be selecting a Miss Ireland?

Poll Results:

Yes, what's the harm in it (5429)
No, it's an out of date concept (4125)
Don't know (521)
