I wonder whether he’s related to the marvelous Latvian film director Leonids Leimanis.
Hope the bloke is found or turns up. Latvia’s a fabulous country.
@henry Suva Leimanis is a fairly popular name in Latvia it’s like Murphy or McCarthy here .

I do realise that, yes. What prompted my off-hand remark is the fact that the romantic lead played by Uldis Pucitis in Leimanis’ 1966 masterpiece ‘Purva bridejs’ / ‘Wading the Bog’ is actually named Edgars.
It perhaps was a silly and unnecessary piece of conjecture on my part. Whether or not he’s the descendant of a famous film-maker, let’s hope for a happy outcome to this story.
