Day three of searches for missing soldier Ben Garrett

Garrett, who is originally from Castlebar in Co Mayo, is based at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa barracks in Renmore in Galway city.

GARDAÍ, THE DEFENCE forces and volunteers are continuing to search for missing man Ben Garrett.

The 21-year-old soldier was last seen on Eglinton Street in Galway city at around 1.45am on Thursday.

Today’s search began in Galway city as friends, family and the wider community came out in an effort to find the whereabouts of the young man.

Garrett, who is originally from Castlebar in Co Mayo, is based at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa barracks in Renmore in Galway city.

He is described as approximately 6ft in height, with short brown hair and of athletic build.

When last seen he was wearing dark jeans and a light blue round-neck Hollister jumper.

Anyone who has seen Ben or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Galway garda station on 091 538000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
