Mother charged after being found pushing dead son on park swings

The toddler had been left in the swing for two days.

A MOTHER IN the US state of Maryland has been charged with manslaughter and child abuse after being found in May pushing her dead son’s body on a park swing.

Authorities say the 24-year-old woman placed her three-year-old son in a playground swing and left him there for two days. She was found pushing the child’s body in the swing and a medical examination found he died of dehydration and low body temperature.

Today the woman was indicted on charges of manslaughter and child abuse.

Family members of the woman have previously said she suffers from mental illness and had been seeking help.
