Motorcyclist dies after road crash in Wexford

The man in his late 20s was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a car.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS died after his bike collided with a car in Wexford earlier this evening.

The man in his late 20s was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with the car at Ferrycarrig on the Wexford to Enniscorthy Road at around 8.25pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Wexford General Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

There were no other injuries in the incident.

The road is expected to remain closed overnight to facilitate a forensic collision examination.

Diversions are in place with gardaí advising that southbound traffic will be diverted through Crossabeg and northbound traffic will be diverted at the National Heritage Park.
