Motorcyclist (20s) dies following collision in Co Cork

The collision happened shortly before 6pm this evening.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS died following a road traffic collision in Co Cork. 

The collision, involving a van and a motorcycle, happened at Ballinahina at White’s Cross in Co Cork shortly before 6pm this evening. 

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A garda spokesperson said that no other serious injuries to persons was reported.

The road is currently closed and is expected to remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning. Local diversions are in place as Forensic Collision Investigators conduct an examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the Ballinahina area between 5.45pm and 6.10pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
