Motorcyclist killed after colliding with car

The road was closed for a time.

A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed after his vehicle collided with a car today in Cork.

Gardaí in Fermoy are investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at Scartbarry, Watergrass Hill, this afternoon at approximately 1pm.

The incident occurred when a car collided with a male motorcyclist, who was 55 years of age.

The motorcyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow morning.

The female driver, who was in her mid 30s, and her male passenger (aged 11) were uninjured.

The road was closed for a forensic collision examination and has now reopened.
