Motorcyclist killed in collision with truck

The crash happened outside Dunboyne this afternoon.

GARDAÍ IN MEATH are investigating a crash which left a man in his 40s dead.

The fatal road traffic collision occurred on the R157 Maynooth to Dunboyne Road at around 1.40pm today.

A male motorcyclist in his 40s was fatally injured when his motorcycle was in collision with a truck. The deceased man has been removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. There were no other injuries.

The road is closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Ashbourne Garda station on 01-801 0600, the Garda confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
