Didn’t think the Ford GT could get any cooler? Well, it has! Ford has announced that the all-new 2017 Ford GT will be available in limited edition ’66 Heritage theme, which honours the GT40 MkII driven to victory by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at Le Mans, in, you guessed it, 1966.

The Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition features a Shadow Black exterior in either gloss or matte finish with silver stripes, exposed carbon fibre package, Frozen White #2 bonnet and door graphics and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels in a gold satin clearcoat with black lug nuts. Inside sees the carbon fibre seats covered with pillow-stitched leather inserts and there are gold appliqués on the instrument panel, the seat’s X-brace and shift paddles. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and blue seat belts are a nod to the original 1966 race car.

The Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition can be viewed at FordGT.com using the configuration tool. Limited quantities will be available for the 2017 model year only and if you want one, you best get saving now.

New Citroën C3

Check out the fresh and funky updated C3 five-door hatchback, which will be hitting our shore in 2017.

The updated model is highly customizable with a total of nine body colours and three roof colours and two-tone paint options with touches of colour around the fog lights, mirrors, rear quarter panel and on the Airbumps panels, as previously seen on the C4 Cactus. There is also a choice of four different interiors.

The ConnectedCAM Citroën gets its world premiere in the new C3. This is an on-board HD camera in the rear view mirror that allows drivers to share their road-trip photos and videos directly with friends and family or the footage can be used in the event of a collision.

Other safety features include a lane-departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring system and driver attention alert.

The C3 also features the new Citroen Connect satnav system that can be controlled by voice or touch from a seven-inch screen and tied in with services like TomTom Traffic. Apple CarPlat, Android Auto and MirroLink are also available.

There is a choice of three PureTech three-cylinder petrol engines, with manual transmission: PureTech 68, 82 and 110 (Stop & Start), and two manual Diesel powertrains: BlueHDi 75 (Stop & Start) and 100 (Stop & Start).

No word on pricing, yet.

Volkswagen Golf ‘162’ offers

There are some savings to be had if you are thinking of buying a new 162 Volkswagen Golf or Golf Estate.

The Golf and Golf Estate are available in three trim levels; Trendline, Highline and a new special edition Allstar trim, which replaces Comfortline.

If you opt for a Trendline model you can add an Innovation Pack for just €162, which adds 16-inch Toronto alloy wheels, front fog lights, tinted rear windows and App-Connect.

If you opt for an Allstar model the €162 Innovation Pack adds electric folding mirrors, App-Connect and keyless start on five-door models.

If you opt for a highline model, which is the most popular choice amongst Irish buyers, the €162 Innovation Pack adds 18-inch Durban alloy wheels, LED darkened rear lights and App-Connect. In the Estate model, the €162 Innovation Pack adds a Winter Pack instead of the darkened rear LEDs.

There are 162 offers on the Golf GTD, Golf GTI, the 40th Anniversary Special Edition Clubsport and the Golf R.
