Internet Archive

Almost 2,400 classic MS-DOS games are now playable on your browser

Now you can relive Prince of Persia all over again for free.

IF YOU NEVER heard of the Internet Archive before now, but remember PC gaming in the late 80s or early 90s, you may want to sit up and take notice.

The organisation, which archives classic books, movies, software, music and more, has made almost 2,400 MS-DOS games available to play online. The catalogue includes classic games like Prince of Persia, Lemmings 2 – The Tribes, Commander Keen, and Manic Mansion.

The browser-based emulator is still very much in beta so there are a few bugs here and there (garbled sound for Prince of Persia would be one), but the way the emulator sets up is similar to how it did it all those years ago.

It should be noted that no controls for any of the games is provided so you will have to go by memory or figure them out on your own. But once you do, you can relive those memories all over again.

PoP 3 Internet Archive Internet Archive

Should that not be to your liking, the Internet Archive also has a collection of classic Atari and Arcade games available for you to play online as well.
