Once he was walking through a shopping mall in Louisville when he was stopped for an autograph. He sat down and wrote a note and signed a paper for the fan. A line quickly formed and he stayed for three hours to sign autographs.

A business client came to see me with several colleagues at a company where I once worked. They left to catch their plane and the weather was poor. Upon returning a couple weeks later, they said their plane was rerouted to a small airport in the middle of nowhere in southern Indiana, and they were disappointed. In the small terminal they saw Muhammad Ali with a couple other guys. Ali signed autographs for all of them and talked to them while they waited for the weather to clear. The clients told me they were elated to meet him and told me what a fine man he was.
