Gardaí investigating 'serious assault' in Mullingar as man left in serious condition

The assault happened in the early hours of the morning of 5 August.

GARDAÍ SAY THEY are investigating a “serious assault” that occured on Monday 5 August in Co Westmeath.

They said that the attack occured in the early hours of the morning on Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar. A man in his 30s was seriously assaulted and taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, where he remains in serious condition.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward or who may have been in the vicinity of Oliver Plunkett Street between 1AM and 4AM on 5 August to come forward.

Additionally, anyone with camera footage from the area at the time is encouraged to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
