GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED a murder investigation after a woman was discovered dead in a Dublin city apartment.
The woman has been named locally as French national Anna Colomines. She worked for online transaction company Paypal as a senior team leader. It is understood she had lived in Dublin for a number of years.
Officers received a call at around 11.30pm of an incident at Dorset Square Apartments.
When they arrived they discovered a 37-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man with serious injuries.
Colomines was pronounced dead at the scene and it is understood she suffered stab wounds.
The man was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are described as serious.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.
A garda spokeswoman said: “Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.”

If Anna’s murderer is confirmed as her current or ex partner, will all the men who are so quick to point out that men are trapped in abusive relationships with women, that women can be just as violent as men, that the issue of sexual violence is either being exaggerated or is not being fairly inclusive by avoiding the true figures relating to male victims, take the time to properly register this is the typical end game for abusive men. How many times must a woman, and/or her child or children, be murdered. How many stories must you hear before you realise that this is not a level playing field. Men are murdering women who are attempting to or have left them.

@gjpb: As I clearly stated in the first sentence of my comment, if it is confirmed. It also states in the article this is being treated as a murder/suicide. Given that Anna is dead, one can conclude that either a: the male currently in hospital murdered Anna & then attempted suicide, or b: Anna attempted to murder the male, but was unsuccessful, & was successful in her suicide. But yes, you take from Anna’s murder, and all other similar murders of women (& children), that I simply wish to go on a rant. Thusly proving my point, that you do not care about the level of violence and violent deaths women (and children) face and are victim to.
