TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS HAVE been lifted after a truck caught fire on the N7 Naas Road outbound from Dublin during rush hour.

Drivers were being warned to take extra care this morning in the wake of the fire, which sent thick smoke into the air and affected visibility.

It happened at Junction 3 for Citywest.

Traffic restrictions were put in place, and gardaí tweeted that delays were to be expected in the area as emergency services dealt with the incident.

In a later update Dublin Fire Brigade said the incident had been dealt with and the road was fully open again.

Elsewhere there were reports of deer loose on the M9 Dublin-Waterford road this morning.
