Two men arrested over death of 27-year-old in Navan

Christopher Nevin was beaten and stabbed last week.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with the death of 27-year-old Christopher Nevin last week.

Nevin died after being assaulted at around 2.15pm last Thursday.

He is understood to have been stabbed with a large blade, sustaining a number of serious wounds. It is believed he was also badly beaten in the attack.

The 27-year-old man was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived at the scene and had to be resuscitated. He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and was taken straight to theatre for emergency surgery, but died shortly after.

Tonight, gardaí confirmed they had arrested two men in their early 20s in the Navan area. They are being held at Navan Garda Station.
