Pic: TV3's new HD studio to be operational by end of the year

Vincent Browne in HD? Ooo-er….

TV3 HAS SAID that its new High Definition studio next door to its headquarters in Dublin will be operational before the end of the year.

The broadcaster unveiled an artist’s impression of what the new studio will look like as it agreed a deal with Sony International for the tech company to provide the latest HD camera and equipment for the studio.

The new multi-million euro studio was completed in July of this year and is, the broadcaster claims, Ireland’s biggest purpose built studio which will be used to enhance current station content as well as produce a range of new programmes that can be sold on the international market.

The broadcaster says that the studio will also be open to independent producers in Ireland and it is understood that the studio will also be made available for RTÉ if it wishes to use it.

All Sony businesses in Ireland have secured exclusive first usage of the facility as part of the deal which was negotiated over the summer by TV3′s commercial director, Pat Kiely, who said that the new studio was “a major development for the sector in Ireland”.
