These brave people including a TD took a dip in the Irish Sea for charity today

Now that takes guts.

WERE YOU SNUGGLED up in bed at noon today? Well, think of the poor folk who were running into the ice cold Irish Sea today in their togs.

Crowds gathered on Bray beach today to take part in the annual New Year’s Day swim. You can watch the moment they took the plunge here.

They were joined by Wicklow’s very own Fine Gael TD, Simon Harris, who was kitted out in his patterned swim shorts, all for good cause, of course.

Here’s some of the crowd enjoying a well deserved hot whiskey in the nearby Strand Hotel on Bray’s seafront.

All the proceeds from today’s sponsored swim go to Bray Lion’s Club, a local volunteer group.
