New York police investigating chilling al-Qaeda posters

The ‘movie poster’ image appeared on Internet forums sympathetic to the terrorist group yesterday.

POLICE IN NEW YORK are investigating the existence of a movie poster style graphic which has popped up on a number of al-Qaeda forums.

According to city media, the NYPD and FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating the origin and authenticity of the graphic.

The poster shows the New York skyline with the words “ALQAEDA, Coming Soon Again in New York” placed out front.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Brown told local radio station 1010 WINS that there is no connection between the poster and any known plan to attack the city.

However,  he referred to it as a “clear implication…[of a] threat to New York”. He also noted that the image shows police headquarters, which are not a feature of Manhattan’s skyline.
