#GERMANY: A truck crashed into a Christmas market in Berlin, killing several people and injuring at least 50 others. Three people have also been injured in a shooting in Zurich, Switzerland.

#TENSIONS: Russia’s ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov has been shot dead in a gun attack in the capital Ankara.

#BANA: A young Syrian girl who came to worldwide prominence as she tweeted from the siege of Aleppo has been safely evacuated.

PARTING SHOT

Met Éireann’s deputy head of forecasting Evelyn Cusack dropped by TheJournal.ie HQ for an interview, and although she said it was still too early to tell for sure, she cautiously warned that stormy weather was ahead.
