Nissan recalling 2.1m cars worldwide

Car ignition problem behind car company’s recall.

CAR COMPANY NISSAN IS RECALLING 2.14m of its vehicles worldwide for an ignition problem which could stall the engine while running.

No accidents have been reported as a result of the defect, according to the AP.

The recall is the company’s third-largest and includes the popular Micra model.

The cars were produced in Japan, the US and four other countries between 2003 and 2006, according to the BBC.

The majority of cars being recalled are based in Japan, the US and Canada, but over 350,000 vehicles are being recalled in Europe.

The AP reports that the company says the problem may be relatively cheap and quick to fix, estimating it should take a half an hour.
