Nostalgic postcards take us back in time to an Ireland of old

Postcards from up and down Ireland capture life all those years ago.

MANY PEOPLE FEEL a sense of pride in where they come from, whether it be a big city or small town.

It can be easy to forget about those that walked on the same paths as us all those years ago, but historic images remind us of times gone by in small town Ireland.

These amazing postcards from around the country capture what life was like for people nearly 100 years ago.

They are up for sale from Saturday 13 June at Whyte’s Auctioneers in Dublin.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie, Ian Whyte he said that he expected the sale to go well as people get very nostalgic about old postcards, particularly from their own area in which they live.

In all, there are over 5,000 postcards up for grabs, categorised by county.

Has it changed much? Take a look.
