Off-duty garda arrests man in Castleknock pharmacy robbery

The man threatened staff and assaulted a customer.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a robbery at a pharmacy in Castleknock, Dublin, yesterday evening.

The robbery occurred at a pharmacy in the Castleknock shopping centre at 7.30pm. An off-duty garda spotted a man acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the pharmacy and contacted the station in Blanchardstown.

He watched the man go into the pharmacy where he threatened staff, demanded money and assaulted a customer.

The off-duty garda entered the premises and arrested the man, with the assistance of two uniformed gardaí who had arrived on the scene.

The man was taken to Blanchardstown garda station for questioning. He was charged and is due to appear in court this morning.

Gardaí said no one was seriously injured in the incident.
