One woman dies, and another seriously injured, after two-car crash in Louth

The woman was the only occupant of the car when it crashed with another on the R132 just outside Dunleer.

A 35-YEAR-OLD WOMAN has died following a road traffic accident in Co Louth.

The accident occurred on the R132 at Castletown, outside Dunleer, at around 10:15pm last night.

The woman was the only occupant of her car when it collided with another.

The driver of the other car – also a 35-year-old woman – was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic examination, and traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Dunleer Garda Station at (041) 6862380, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
