Over 1,700 cannabis plants sezied in Co Meath

Gardaí say that they have uncovered the largest cannabis grow house ever found in Ireland in today – and seized drugs worth approximately €680,000.

GARDAÍ HAVE CONFISCATED more than 1,700 cannabis plants from a grow house in Co Meath – the largest operation ever uncovered in Ireland.

Five men have been arrested at the scene following the raid, which took place at about 2pm in a rural area of Grange in Bective, Co Meath, reports RTÉ.

Gardaí say that 1,720 plants in various stages of growth were seized. The cannabis had an estimated value of more than €680,000.

Investigators believe that the organised criminal gang responsible for producing the drugs is based in Finglas, Co  Dublin, reports the Irish Times.
