Man doesn't say 'f*** you' to Paddington in advert

Some who watched the Marks and Spencer Christmas ad were convinced the little bear was sworn at.

IF YOU WERE one of those people who thought that a burglar said ‘fuck you’ to little Paddington in the above Marks and Spencer advert, we’re glad to report you were wrong.

People have been asking online whether the character in the ad did direct an expletive towards the bear, but The Guardian reports today that it definitively wasn’t the case. He says ‘thank you, little bear’.

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) told the site in a statement that it is actually a case of people mishearing the ad. It had received a number of complaints about the clip.

Marks and Spencer had already told Buzzfeed that there was no f-word said – but that didn’t stop the complaints coming into the ASA.

Phew. So 2017 isn’t all bad, then.
