A SECOND MAN has been arrested in connection with the terror attack carried out on a London Underground train last Friday.

The 21-year-old male was arrested by Metropolitan Police in the district of Hounslow, about 10 miles west of Parsons Green, just before midnight last night.

He was arrested for terrorism offences and taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

29 people were injured during the attack in a packed train carriage at Parsons Green station in west London on Friday morning.

The latest arrest comes on the heels of the ‘significant’ detainment of an 18-year-old man at the port of Dover on England’s south coast earlier yesterday.

A London property was also raided by police in the hours following the Dover arrest.

The improvised explosive device (IED) used in Friday’s attack at Parsons Green, a quiet and wealthy residential district, failed to detonate fully.

However, the blast inflicted flash burns on passengers, and prompted dozens of others to flee in panic.

Witness Charlie Craven told AFP he heard a “massive bang”, adding:

I saw an orange sort of fireball encompassing the whole Tube coming towards you.

The UK’s threat level remains at ‘critical’, despite the progress made in investigation.

The so-called Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.
