Get The Look: 6 stylish buys inspired by Paula's 'relaxed and cosy' living room

Paula opted for soft grey with pops of pink – and here’s how to steal her look.

Each week, we take an Insta-worthy room in Ireland and show you how you can get the look yourself with high street buys.

This week, Paula Doherty’s (@homebyp) cosy living space was our inspiration.

“This room was revamped nearly three years ago,” says Paula. “It’s an open plan room which ties in with the kitchen. We had just revamped the whole kitchen area and decided this area needed some updating too.”

I think pink and grey go very well together, so I introduced both into the colour mix.

“I wanted a relaxed, cosy feel. It didn’t have to be kid friendly as kids are adults now. Both myself and husband have been working during the lockdown so it’s a great place to come home to in the evenings,” she says.

Homesense, Ikea and Sostrene Grene were Paula’s main port of call when fitting out this room. Below are six high-street products that’ll help you get this look in your own home…

1. Rattan tray, €11, Ikea

Opt for an aesthetically pleasing tray so you can use it both to serve food and to display candles and small decorations.

2. Velvet footstool with lid, €26, Penneys

A pop of pink brightens up any room and, at €26, this footstool is a total bargain.

3. Artificial plant, €12.99, JYSK

There are a few plants dotted around Paula’s space, adding texture and life (even if some are artificial).

4. Cushion cover, €9.99, H&M

A statement cushion, like Paula’s feather-printed piece, adds another focal point to the room.

5. Pink plush throw, €11.67 (£10.39), The Range
