Pedestrian (70s) dies after being hit by car in Co Limerick

The man was hit on New Street, Abbeyfeale shortly after 9pm on Sunday night.

A MAN IN his 70s has died after being hit by a car in Co Limerick.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a incident, which happened in on New Street, Abbeyfeale shortly after 9pm on Sunday night.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency services a short time later.

The scene is preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. A report will be sent to the local Coroner and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Additionally, anyone with video footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, is asked to come forward.
